Christmas 2011 was Merry and Bright!

Our 2011 Christmas in a blur of pictures!

My favorite Christmas scent.

Company Christmas party

My favorite puppy's first Christmas.

My husband putting up the most amazing Christmas lights!

 Nephews make Christmas so fun!

I asked them to pose next to their gifts.
Copelan chose the classic hands clasped in front.
Caden, ever the creative type, chose a unique fist pump pose.  Always hilarious.

Road Trip Must Haves!

Looking for some new holiday music for your upcoming road trip?  Well, look no further.  I am going to share some of my favorites.

My all-time favorite and high school crush...okay college too...Dave Barnes.
His Christmas album is absolutely amazing.
My favorite songs are Very Merry Christmas and I Pray on Christmas!  Although Christmas tonight, the song with Hilary Scott from Lady Antebellum, is fabulous too!  You can't go wrong with Dave Barnes.  All of his albums are amazing.  B and I danced to one of his first songs from his acoustic album at our wedding, Nothing Fancy.
You can purchase this jolly album here!

The second album you should check out is Matt Wertz new album, Snow Globe!
Super merry and bright!  My favorite song is of course Snow Globe!  You can't help but sing along!  With a very close second being, Tender Tennessee Christmas with Amy Grant!
You can purchase this awesome album here!

Both albums are just $10 each.  So you won't break the bank but you will break out a lot of holiday cheer with these two!  B and I have been enjoying both the whole holiday season!  Don't start your holiday road trip without them!

Holiday Festivities!

Our weeks have already been filled with holiday parties and engagements!  First on our calendar, the ladies with the mile long legs and identical smiles!
The Rockettes!
After Thanksgiving, my family, B and I went to see the Rockettes and to Opryland for a few pictures!  Since photos are strictly prohibited in the theatre, I'll just share some of my favorite family photos.

Cubby was only minimally willing to participate in photos.  At least we got these two.

Cubby loved the show!  He waved at the singers and dancers the whole time!  The live nativity was beautiful and the precision of those kicks truly is amazing.  I totally recommend the show as a fun family outing!

Christmas parties have begun as well.  I haven't gotten photos at all the parties but I did get some at the annual Robinson Chrismas party.  Jessica and Craig Robinson always throw the best parties, but this little cutie basically stole the show!
Yay for group photos with new babies!

If you are looking for an awesome appetizer for your next holiday party, look no further!  Jessica had the best dip and I begged her for the recipe to share with you all.  Its called Frito dip...I know so simple, but so yum.

Jessica's Frito Dip
2 8 oz cream cheeses
1 can whole kernel corn, drained
1 chopped red bell pepper (Jessica chose red for a nice color contrast.)
1 can chopped black olives
1 can chopped jalopenos, to your taste (Jessica used half a can.)

Allow cream cheese to soften to ensure easy mixing.  Mix all ingredients.  Chill.  Serve with fritos!
Couldn't be easier.  I'll be honest...as if I'm not all the time...but I don't like olives.  But even after I discovered them, I couldn't stop eating it.  You shouldn't try it for your parties this weekend.

Enjoy your Christmas celebrations!  Party on folks!

Deck the Halls

Its that time again!  Can you see the big cheesy side smile on my face?  Its there!  Its time to deck your halls with boughs of holly!  Yes I did have to google the lyrics so I would know if it was bales or bells or bowels.  Whatever a bough is, its time to get it out.  Or if you are at my house it was time about 2 weeks ago.  I love to decorate early, but this year my husband is Father Christmas himself.  He started pulling things out before Thanksgiving begging to put up the tree.
Its crazy how many decorations we have.  And this pile is from last year when we decorated our 750 square foot little duplex.  Imagine what this pile will look like when I'm 80 and I've accumulated a lifetime's worth.
We attempted a family photo because we were so excited about Christmas coming!

We took our decorations from 1 room last year and spread it to 5 rooms this years.  A little glitter goes a long way!  Let the sparkling begin...

First tree goes up.
Can you tell he was excited?
Paisley was excited too!
Tree all decorated.  A glitter explosion!  Just how I like it.

Finally the house is all decorated.  And I was done, but my husband was not.
He needed to fulfill his life's dream...have the best Christmas lights on the block.
Didn't he do a great job?!
Sorry cell phone picture.

I hope your holiday decorating went well.  Remember...just use what you have and make it work folks!
