Finley: 10 Months Old

10 Months!  Only 2 months away from 1 year old!  I won't think about it yet.  I'm just going to enjoy every day with you!  Because every day you do something new.  

 Between months 9 and 10, pulling up was your biggest accomplishment.  Although you could pull up in 9 months, you were kinda stuck once you got there.  At 10 months, you were pulling things off shelves and exploring everything.

You are a very determined little thing.  It doesn't matter what obstacle is in your way if you want to go somewhere you are going to go and go straight to it.  It never occurs to you to go around something when you could just crawl through it even if its a tight squeeze.

This shopping trip got really interesting when I turned away for like 10 seconds and turned back to find you like this.  You proceeded to do this again at target even with the lap strap on.

All of this death defying stunts is probably why cuts and bruises became so common this month.  Here is your first big bruise (on your forehead).  You were trying to show off for Aunt MoMo and hit a slat on your crib when you fell.

You got some good friend time in this month.  Dinner with Charley and Harper.

Trying to get a picture of you 3 was a challenge.

Play time with some of your favorite boys.  Toran and Jack.

And a pool party with more friends.

You are attempting to eat watermelon here.  I think we have come to decide you don't like it at this point.  You eat a bite here and there but aren't in love.  Your taste buds are ever changing though so maybe sometime soon you can join your Daddy in loving watermelon.

We surprised Aunt Candy with a visit for her birthday.  Anytime you get to see your Cubby and Crocky you are excited.  Cubby loves trying to hold you.

 And you think he is super fun even when he is endangering Crocky's life pushing him at break neck speeds around the gym.

Finger foods were a hit this month.  Here you are trying your first waffle.

You still love your sissy, Paisley.  

Playing at Big C's office is so fun.

This month you also discovered the toilet.  

And got your first mani/pedi from Aunt Candy.

This month has been so fun.  You are becoming more of a hand full by the day but it's so neat watching you discover this whole new world around you.  We love you, Ninny!

Finley: 9 Months Old

Well as you can see I haven't posted in like a month and a half.  For a while the internet didn't work...dirty Comcast.  Now I'm just not as into it as I used to be.  I love it on one hand and on the other hand when I have "me" time during nap I just want to eat a meal in peace and watch my favorite show. I currently have at least 3 blogs to write and post.  Here's to hoping I can get those done at some point in the near future.

9 Months!

I feel like this month was full of big changes, particularly in your motor skills.  Crawling and pulling up became the norm and basically all you wanted to do all the time.  You are in ~ the 25th percentile for weight and close to the 50th percentile for height.  (If I had written this on time I would remember more exactly...nice mom.)

Finley: 8 Months Old

Like every month it seems, you have changed so much!  Every day you are learning new things and becoming less and less my little baby.  At 8 Months, you weigh just under 17 pounds.  You may be small but you are full of personality and we love that about you!

Since it has been warm, you have been enjoying some time in the pool.  Paisley likes your pool or giant water bowl to her as well.

We also went to Wade's pool with Aunt MoMo!  You love the water.

 

 This month, you learned to pull up in your crib from sitting (you still can't pull up from lying down).  Paisley came over to congratulate you.

You love to play in sitting, but this month you have also started getting into kneeling and half-kneeling during playtime.  Practicing for those milestones ahead.  You can pretty much get to the toys you want by lunging out of sitting to your belly to get that toy just out of reach or by scooting backward on your belly.

Bath time is still a favorite time.  Here you are kissing the baby in your reflection.

Through all the fun and games, we have had a day or two of this as well.

Gran got you a new chair.  I'm not sure you know its a chair but you will soon.

You now also have two teeth, the front teeth on the bottom row.  Big girl.  They are so cute showing in your bright smile!

You continue to try new foods and like pretty much everything.  Bananas are still not your favorites.
Here you are trying purple sweet potatoes with applesauce and cinnamon.  Mommy left the jar a little close and stepped away.  You took that moment to grab some and paint yourself a bit.  Luckily a bath was just around the corner.

 Sweet cousin love.  You loved playing in JaJa's doll house with your Cubby bear.

While Cubby and CrocCroc were in town, we all went to the park.

Poor CrocCroc can't quite defend himself yet.  I'm sure soon enough you will be taking a little bit of payback from him.  For now, a little play payback from CrocCroc and MoMo is all fun and games.

You thought play fighting was so funny!

 You also enjoyed a visit from Gran and from your Papa!  We love having family come in to see you.

At 8 months, you also give a mean high five!  You love giving them to Daddy but will also give them to friends and family if you are in the right mood.
